The Comparison of the Texas Rig and the Carolina Rig

If you’ve ever fished for bass, you probably have heard of these two styles of rigging your worms. These 2 types have been around for a long time , and both of them have produced some oversized fish. Generally speaking, fishing with worms might be the single best way to land the really big fish. Texas rigs are is the simplest of the 2. It only entails a cone shaped weight, worm, and a hook. The Texas rig is very tightly fit, and works very well when you are fishing rich vegetation, where so often bass make their abode.

Put the weight on first , then the bead, tie off the barrel swivel, put on a leader line, tie on your hook, then place your worm on the hook, and you are prepared to Carolina rig fish. Because the weight is separate from the worm, when the lure is wagged in front of the bass, it appears more authentic, and thus may yield more strikes. But you have to weigh it out however, because the Carolina rig is harder to fish the cover areas, and thus when you are fishing the Carolina rig, you might not be able to place the bait as close to the fish, which means less bass.
